Manchester United loanee Ethan Laird weighs in on his new life at Swansea City

According to Swansea City official, Manchester United loanee Ethan Laird has talked about his feelings surrounding the move to Swansea and the jump up to the Championship. He had moved this summer and joined Russell Martin, his previous manager at MK Dons.

Having spent his previous season on loan with the Dons, the youngster had got used to his new manager. He has taken advantage of that situation and has been great for the Swans so far, having made four assists and earning seven clean sheets from 16 appearances.

The 20-year-old has already become a fan favourite and has got used to the difference in intensity between the second division and the League One. He admitted that he is enjoying life at his new club and believes that he would improve a lot during his time with the Jacks.

“I’m enjoying life here and I think everyone can see that is the case. When I came here, I had obviously worked with the gaffer before, so I knew about the style of play.”

The Englishman admitted that he was helped by his time under Martin in the previous season, which helped him adjust to the new team. He added that the intensity and physicality are much tougher in the Championship and has openly welcomed the challenge.

“I’ve also taken a lot from stepping up to the Championship after playing in League One last season. There is a step in the intensity and the physicality, in the speed of the play.”
